Listening & monitoring · Brandwatch vs Talkwalker
Brandwatch vs Talkwalker pricing, Talkwalker vs Brandwatch features and which to buy
The short answer
Neither Brandwatch nor Talkwalker publishes a price. Brandwatch sends every visitor to a demo form, and Vendr records a median Brandwatch contract of $50,000 a year across 40 purchases (range $19,542 to $81,200). Talkwalker names three quoted tiers, Core, Analyze and Business, all with unlimited users, and has too few recorded purchases for a reliable median. Buy Brandwatch for consumer research on a deep archive, Talkwalker for global media and social coverage with Hootsuite in the stack, and neither when the job is fast alerts on brand mentions.
Brandwatch and Talkwalker turn up on the same enterprise shortlist more often than any other pair, and the search results for the comparison do not help much. The second result is a Talkwalker page that calls itself the Brandwatch alternative, and most of the rest are review aggregators repeating star ratings. Neither vendor prints a figure, so a buyer is really comparing two sales processes.
The useful facts are on the vendors' own pricing pages and in contract data. Talkwalker's page, read on October 6, 2026, says "Pick your plan to get a custom quote" and lays out Core, Analyze and Business. Brandwatch's /pricing URL redirects to a page called Pricing and Plans for Every Team that lists solutions and ends in a demo form. Both companies also belong to bigger parents now (Cision owns Brandwatch, Hootsuite owns Talkwalker), which shapes how each renewal gets sold.

Why it works
Three things that decide this comparison
Two price lists with no prices
Talkwalker names its tiers and what each adds, then asks for a demo before quoting. Brandwatch names its solutions and asks for a demo before naming anything else. The only sourced dollar figure for either is Vendr contract data, and for Talkwalker even that is too thin to lean on.
Research depth against coverage breadth
Brandwatch is built around an archive of 1.7 trillion conversations reaching back to 2010 and the Iris AI layer for analysts. Talkwalker sells breadth: its pricing page cites 150 million data sources, 30+ social platforms, 187 languages and 196 countries.
Different parents, different renewals
Cision has owned Brandwatch since June 1, 2021, so a renewal can arrive bundled with media database and wire distribution. Hootsuite announced its Talkwalker acquisition on April 8, 2024, and now sells the engine as Lumen by Talkwalker, including inside Hootsuite plans.

The full comparison
Brandwatch vs Talkwalker on price, plans, data coverage and ownership
Talkwalker was read from talkwalker.com/pricing and Brandwatch from brandwatch.com/plans on October 6, 2026. Contract figures come from Vendr, which aggregates private SaaS purchases, quoted with sample size. Vendr figures are negotiated contracts, not list prices, and nothing on this page is estimated.
Start with Talkwalker, because its page says more than most people expect. The three tiers are Core, Analyze and Business, and every one of them ends in "Select", which opens a demo request rather than a checkout. Core is the always-on listening and media monitoring product with topic and channel analytics, custom dashboards, reports and alerts, plus four AI layers: Wisdom (peak detection, forecasting and AI summaries), an AI Agent you can ask questions, LLM Insights that monitors how AI assistants talk about your brand, and pre-built IQ Apps dashboards. Analyze, marked most popular, doubles the non-sampled results volume and adds 25 topics, filters and channels. Business gives six times the Core volume, three times the topics, additional historical data, more AI agent questions and LLM Insights channels, and more workspaces with governance. Every tier includes unlimited users, onboarding, training and regular strategy reviews.
What that tells a buyer: Talkwalker prices on data volume and topic count, not seats. The question to bring to the demo is how many non-sampled results your queries will produce, because that number picks the tier.
Brandwatch publishes less. Its plans page names Social Listening and Consumer Insights, Social Media Management (the former Falcon.io), Influencer Marketing (the former Paladin) and Search Intelligence with GenAI monitoring, says standard to enterprise plans exist for each, and asks for a business email before anything else. There is no trial. Vendr's 40 recorded Brandwatch purchases have a median of $50,000 a year, a range of $19,542 to $81,200, and an average negotiated saving of about 15%. Vendr also lists Talkwalker, but with only three recorded purchases, which is too few to quote as a market price.

Is Talkwalker better than Brandwatch?
For breadth of coverage and for teams that want everyone logged in, often yes. Talkwalker's page claims 150 million sources across 187 languages, and every tier includes unlimited users. For research on long-run conversation trends, no: Brandwatch's archive back to 2010 and its Iris tooling are built for analysts running studies.
The honest framing is that they lead in different places. Pick by the job, then compare quotes for the same scope.
How much does Talkwalker cost?
Talkwalker does not publish a figure. Its pricing page lists Core, Analyze and Business and asks you to pick one to get a custom quote, and the quote depends mainly on non-sampled results volume and the number of topics, filters and channels. Vendr records only three Talkwalker purchases, too few for a reliable median, so treat any single number you see on a comparison site with caution.
Users are not the cost driver: all three tiers include unlimited users.
How much does Brandwatch cost compared to Talkwalker?
Brandwatch also publishes no price. Vendr's 40 recorded Brandwatch purchases have a median of $50,000 a year and a range of $19,542 to $81,200, with buyers negotiating about 15% off on average. Talkwalker has no comparable sourced median.
The practical way to compare is to ask both vendors for a written quote covering the same topics, channels, history and users, and to ask for the year-two number at the same time.
Who owns Talkwalker and Brandwatch?
Hootsuite owns Talkwalker; the acquisition was announced on April 8, 2024, and the product is now sold as Lumen by Talkwalker, both directly and as the listening layer inside Hootsuite. Cision owns Brandwatch; that deal closed on June 1, 2021, and Cision's own pricing form lists Brandwatch next to CisionOne and PR Newswire as affiliated brands.
So this is a choice between a social media management company's listening engine and a PR company's research platform.
Does Talkwalker or Brandwatch have a free trial?
Neither offers a self-serve trial. Talkwalker's plan buttons open a demo request, and Brandwatch's page sends every solution to a three-step demo form.
If you need to see mention data before a sales cycle, a self-serve monitoring tool with a published price is the faster test. EyeOut, for example, opens with a one-time demo and then a paid plan from $39 a month billed yearly.
Which one is better for a mid-market team?
Usually neither, if the requirement is monitoring rather than research. Both expect a sales cycle and an annual contract sized for an insights or social team with budget to match.
EyeOut is built for the monitoring buyer. It watches Google News, Reddit, Mastodon, Hacker News, Lemmy and Apple Podcasts twice an hour, reads sentiment on every mention, runs a crisis radar from Growth, and publishes $39, $94, $249 and $499 a month billed yearly with seats included. It does not cover X, Instagram or TikTok and keeps no multi-year archive, and says so.
