GummySearch Alternative for Reddit keyword tracking and brand alerts after the shutdown

GummySearch closed on November 30, 2025 and no longer accepts new signups. EyeOut is a GummySearch alternative for the tracking side of the job: it watches Reddit, Google News and Mastodon for your brand, competitor and category keywords every 30 minutes, scores each mention for sentiment toward your brand, and emails you about negative mentions, from $59 a month billed yearly. It does not replace GummySearch's subreddit discovery or pain-point research, and it costs more than GummySearch's old $29 Starter plan.

Watch your own brand across news, Reddit and forums and get the alert when something spikes.

Every 30 minutes across Google News, Reddit, Mastodon, Hacker News, Lemmy and Apple Podcasts. AI sentiment, spike and crisis alerts.

GummySearch was cheaper at $29 and did subreddit discovery and pain-point research that EyeOut does not attempt. EyeOut replaces its keyword tracking and alerts, adds Google News and Mastodon in the same feed, scores sentiment toward your brand on every mention, and from Growth adds a per-keyword crisis radar, Slack and competitor share of voice.

EyeOut

$59/mo Starter (3 keywords, 5,000 mentions, 1 seat, Reddit, Google News and Mastodon), $149/mo Growth (10 keywords, 50,000 mentions, 3 seats, adds Hacker News, Lemmy, podcasts, crisis radar, Slack, 3 competitors), $399/mo Pro (30 keywords, 250,000 mentions, 10 seats, severity, emotion, API and webhooks), billed yearly. Monthly billing $79, $189 and $499. Scans every 30 minutes on every plan. No free plan.

GummySearch

Closed. No new signups since November 30, 2025. Last published ladder: Free (50 keyword searches), Starter $29/mo (unlimited keyword searches, keyword tracking, AI customer development), Pro $59/mo (advanced search, content performance reports, Slack and Discord, trending subreddits), Mega $199/mo (enterprise usage limits, shareable reports). Annual billing saved 33%.

GummySearch figures and shutdown terms were read from gummysearch.com, its pricing page and its closing notice in September 2026. The pricing page still shows the old plans with a banner saying the product is closed. Existing subscribers keep access until the end of their billing period, at most one year, and lifetime-deal holders until November 30, 2026.

The longer answer

Why teams look for a GummySearch alternative

GummySearch was an audience research tool for Reddit. Its own product page described it as a way to search, summarize and gain insights from 130,000 active subreddits: find the communities where your customers gather, then read the threads it sorted into pain points, solution requests, money talk and people seeking alternatives. Its last price list, still published on its site, ran from a Free plan limited to 50 keyword searches, through Starter at $29 a month with unlimited searches and keyword tracking, Pro at $59 with advanced search, content performance reports and Slack or Discord, to Mega at $199 for research firms and agencies. Annual billing saved 33 percent.

On November 30, 2025 GummySearch closed for business. Its closing notice says the shutdown was to comply with Reddit's API policies, which it described as forbidding commercial applications. New signups are closed. Active subscribers keep access until the end of their billing period, at most one year, lifetime-deal holders keep access until November 30, 2026, and free users can only export or delete their data. So every former customer is on a clock, and anyone who found GummySearch through an old recommendation cannot sign up at all.

EyeOut is not a clone of GummySearch, and it is worth being exact about which half of the job it takes over. GummySearch had two halves. The research half helped you discover subreddits and mine them for ideas, and EyeOut does not do that. The tracking half, which GummySearch described as getting notified of conversations about your brand, complaints about competitors and requests in your product category, is exactly what EyeOut is built for. You add brand, product, competitor and category keywords, and EyeOut scans Reddit, Google News and Mastodon every 30 minutes on every plan, with Hacker News, Lemmy and Apple Podcasts episode titles and descriptions added from Growth. Each mention is scored for sentiment toward your brand, negative mentions trigger an email, and a daily digest groups the rest into themes. From the $149 Growth plan, a crisis radar compares each keyword's last 24 hours with its own 7-day average and alerts you when it breaks from normal, and Slack alerts and share of voice against three competitors come with it. EyeOut does not watch X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn or review sites, it is not real time, and it does not backfill mentions from before you add a keyword.

Why teams pick EyeOut

One tool for cross-channel brand monitoring

Keep hearing about your brand on Reddit

The part of GummySearch most teams relied on day to day was the alert when someone mentioned the product, complained about a competitor or asked for a tool in the category. EyeOut does that on every plan, every 30 minutes, and puts a sentiment score on each mention so the angry thread is not buried among the neutral ones.

News and Mastodon in the same feed

GummySearch only ever read Reddit. EyeOut adds Google News and Mastodon from the $59 Starter plan, and Hacker News, Lemmy and podcast episode descriptions from Growth, so a story that starts in a subreddit and moves into the press shows up in one place.

Alerts that know what normal looks like

From Growth, EyeOut compares each keyword's last 24 hours with its own 7-day average and flags a break from normal with a short brief on what is being said, rather than pinging you on every match. Pro adds severity grading and a breakdown of which source drove the spike.

Good questions

GummySearch vs EyeOut, answered

Yes, it already has. GummySearch closed for business on November 30, 2025, and says the reason was to comply with Reddit's API policies, which it described as forbidding commercial applications. New signups are closed. Paying subscribers keep access until the end of their billing period, at most one year, lifetime-deal holders until November 30, 2026, and free users can only export or delete their data.
It depends on which half of GummySearch you used. For keyword tracking and alerts about your brand and competitors, a monitoring tool such as EyeOut, Syften or F5Bot replaces it. For subreddit discovery and pain-point research, GummySearch's own alternatives page points to research tools such as PainOnSocial and IdeaFast. For finding buyers to reply to, it lists lead-generation tools such as RedReach.
GummySearch's last published pricing was a Free plan limited to 50 keyword searches, Starter at $29 a month with keyword tracking, Pro at $59 with advanced search, content reports and Slack or Discord, and Mega at $199 for high-volume research firms. Annual billing saved 33 percent. None of these plans can be bought now, because signups closed on November 30, 2025.
Yes. GummySearch's closing notice says free tier users can still log in to download an export of their account data or delete their account, and paying subscribers keep full access until their billing period ends. Export your saved audiences and tracked keywords before your access expires, then re-create the keywords in whichever tool replaces it.
No. EyeOut does not discover subreddits, map audiences or sort threads into pain points and solution requests. It tracks the keywords you give it, such as your brand, product and competitor names, across Reddit, Google News and Mastodon, scores each mention for sentiment toward your brand, and alerts you. If audience research was the job, a research tool is the better replacement.
Yes. EyeOut starts at $59 a month billed yearly, or $79 monthly, against GummySearch's old $29 Starter plan. The difference buys Google News and Mastodon alongside Reddit, sentiment on every mention and negative-mention alerts, with a crisis radar, Slack and competitor share of voice from the $149 Growth plan. EyeOut has no free plan.
Every 30 minutes, on every plan. EyeOut is not real time: if you need a Reddit alert within a minute of a post, Syften states a sub-minute Reddit target and F5Bot delivers instantly from its Gold plan. EyeOut is built for teams that want each mention scored and a warning when a keyword breaks from its normal volume.
