How EyeOut, the real-time AI brand monitoring and social listening platform, collects, uses and protects your information. Last updated: June 2026.
The short version
EyeOut monitors publicly available mentions of the brands, products and keywords you choose to track, and stores the account data you give us so we can run your monitoring. We collect only what we need to provide the service and to talk with you about it. We are GDPR-ready, we let you delete your data, and we never sell your data.
What this policy covers
This policy explains what EyeOut collects when you visit eyeout.com, sign up, or use the product to monitor your brand across web, news, X, Reddit, Instagram, forums, podcasts and review sites. It covers both this website and the EyeOut application. Specific commercial and data-processing terms for larger accounts are set out in the agreement established with each customer, which prevails where it differs.
The mentions we process
To monitor your brand, EyeOut collects and analyzes publicly available content, such as public posts, articles, reviews, forum threads, podcast transcripts and other public mentions that match the keywords you choose to track. This content is already public when we process it. We use it to detect mentions, score sentiment and emotion, cluster themes, measure share of voice and alert you to spikes. We do not attempt to access private, gated or restricted content, and you are responsible for choosing keywords and sources you are entitled to monitor.
Information we collect
- Information you submit. The email address you provide when you sign up, and any optional details you choose to share, such as your name, company, the brands and keywords you track and your channel preferences. We use a short verification code to confirm your email.
- Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we keep your name, email and message so we can respond.
- Monitoring configuration and results. The keywords, competitors, channels and alert settings you create, and the public mentions and analysis EyeOut produces for your account.
- Analytics data. Aggregate usage information about how the site and product are used, so we can understand what is helpful and improve the experience.
- Technical and log data. Standard information such as IP address, browser type, and the page or campaign you arrived from, used for security, fraud prevention and understanding traffic sources.
How we use your information
- To run your brand monitoring: tracking mentions, scoring sentiment, clustering themes and sending alerts.
- To set up your account, verify your email and respond to your questions.
- To send you relevant product updates about EyeOut, where you have asked to hear from us.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site and product are used so we can improve them.
- To protect the service from abuse, fraud and security threats.
How we think about security and compliance
EyeOut is built for marketing, PR and founders who need to trust what they see, so security and compliance are first-class concerns. We design to minimize the data we collect, limit access to it, and process only publicly available mentions plus your account data. We use strong encryption in transit and at rest and least-privilege access. We are GDPR-ready and there is no long-term lock-in: your data stays yours and you can export or delete it. We do not claim any certification or status we do not hold.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate EyeOut, such as our hosting, data-source, email delivery and analytics providers, and only to the extent they need it to perform their function. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and our users.
Data retention
We keep your account details and monitoring history for as long as needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting and security obligations. You can ask us to delete the information you have submitted at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to retain it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information in transit and at rest, and we limit who can access it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to collect as little of it as possible in the first place.
Your choices and rights
You can access, correct or delete the information you have submitted, and you can opt out of non-essential email at any time. Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, you may have additional rights over your personal data. To exercise any of these, email us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and site evolve. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
