Listening & monitoring · Sysomos pricing
Sysomos pricing and Sysomos cost now the platform is sold as Meltwater
The short answer
Sysomos has no price of its own any more. Meltwater acquired the Toronto social analytics company on April 24, 2018, and today sysomos.com and sysomos.com/pricing both answer with a redirect to meltwater.com. Meltwater lists Starter, Pro, Enterprise and Agency plans, shows no dollar figure on any of them, offers no self-serve trial and says most contracts run a 12-month minimum. The only public cost signal is Vendr purchase data for Meltwater: a median near $25,800 a year across 126 recorded contracts, from about $5,375 to $56,993.
People still search for Sysomos pricing for two reasons. Some worked with MAP or Heartbeat at an agency years ago and want the same thing for a new team. Others find Sysomos named in an old vendor shortlist, a procurement template or a 2016 listicle and need a number for a budget line. Both groups hit the same wall: the review directories either print a dash where the price should be or quote figures from 2015.
The fix takes one request. Type sysomos.com into a browser and you land on meltwater.com. The Sysomos product line was absorbed after Meltwater bought the company in April 2018, so any quote you get today is a Meltwater quote, built from Meltwater capabilities and signed on Meltwater terms. This page shows what the redirect does, what Meltwater publishes in place of a price, what buyers have actually paid, and how to price the brand monitoring job on its own if that is all you needed Sysomos for.

Why it works
Three things to know before you budget for Sysomos
Every Sysomos URL now ends at Meltwater
The homepage and the old pricing path both return a redirect to meltwater.com, and the application hostnames customers once logged into no longer answer. There is no Sysomos signup, no Sysomos plan and no Sysomos price list left to find. Whatever you are quoted, you are quoted by Meltwater.
The figures on review sites are from another decade
The most specific public numbers trace back to a December 2015 analysis of the Sysomos and Expion merger: an Essentials level around $2,500 a month ($30,000 a year) and an Expert level around $5,000. One directory now shows no price at all and says Sysomos was rebranded as Meltwater Social. Neither describes something you can buy.
Meltwater sells capabilities on an annual term
You choose from media intelligence, social listening, AI visibility tracking and media relations, with influencer marketing on Enterprise and Agency, and the quote follows the list. Most agreements are annual with a 12-month minimum, and complex setups can carry a one-time implementation fee. That is a procurement cycle, not a card payment.

What Sysomos costs now, where the product went, and what Meltwater buyers actually pay
The sysomos.com redirects and the Meltwater pricing page were requested directly and read on October 1, 2026. The acquisition date comes from the April 2018 announcement. Vendr figures are private SaaS purchase data, not public procurement records. Where no price is published, this page says so.
Start with the measurement. A request to sysomos.com returns HTTP 308 with meltwater.com as the destination, and a request to sysomos.com/pricing returns 308 to meltwater.com/pricing. The old application hostnames, app.sysomos.com and map.sysomos.com, still resolve in DNS but no longer serve a page. The Expion domain, the social publishing company Sysomos bought in 2015, does not answer either. Every road into the old product ends at Meltwater.
The page you land on is headed Meltwater Pricing and lists four plans. Starter is aimed at small comms and marketing teams and startups. Pro adds advanced Mira AI, competitive benchmarking and custom dashboards for regional and multi-channel teams. Enterprise adds influencer marketing, API and MCP integrations and governance. Agency is built for firms running several client brands. Every one of the four buttons says Contact Sales. There is no starting figure, no range and no per-seat rate anywhere on the page.
The FAQ underneath fills in the terms. Meltwater says it uses tailored pricing, built from the modules you choose, the breadth of sources and regions, data volume, number of users, integrations, onboarding and contract terms. It does not offer a self-serve free trial, only a guided demo. Most partnerships are annual agreements with a minimum contract length of 12 months. Enterprise or complex setups may carry a one-time implementation or onboarding charge, and plan changes are handled case by case.
So what does a team pay. The only credible public signal is purchase data. Vendr, which records negotiated SaaS contracts, shows a median Meltwater contract of about $25,800 a year across 126 purchases, from roughly $5,375 to $56,993, with buyers negotiating around 15% off the first quote. Compare that with the 2015 Sysomos figures still in circulation: $30,000 a year for Essentials is in the same range as today's Meltwater median, which is a coincidence of scale rather than evidence that the old ladder survived.
The practical question for a former Sysomos user is which part of the old platform you actually depended on. Sysomos MAP was a research tool for digging through large volumes of social and web conversation. Heartbeat was the always-on monitoring dashboard. Expion added publishing and workflow for brands with many local pages. Meltwater now sells those jobs as separate capabilities, so a quote that bundles social listening, media intelligence and media relations can be three times the price of the one job you needed.

How much does Sysomos cost?
Sysomos has no published cost today, because it is sold as Meltwater. Meltwater lists Starter, Pro, Enterprise and Agency plans with no dollar figure on any of them and builds each quote from the capabilities you pick.
The nearest real number is purchase data: across 126 recorded Meltwater contracts, Vendr shows a median of about $25,800 a year and a range from roughly $5,375 to $56,993. The older Sysomos figures of $2,500 and $5,000 a month come from a 2015 analysis and no longer describe anything on sale.
Is Sysomos still available?
Not under its own name. sysomos.com and its pricing path both redirect to Meltwater, and the old application hostnames no longer serve a login page. The capabilities Sysomos sold, social listening and analytics, continue inside Meltwater's platform.
What has gone is the separate product and the separate buying process. New buyers and former customers alike go through a Meltwater demo and quote, on Meltwater contract terms.
Who owns Sysomos?
Meltwater owns Sysomos. Meltwater acquired the Toronto company on April 24, 2018, buying it from OMERS Private Equity in what was its seventh acquisition in 18 months, and ran it as its social analytics division.
Meltwater itself has been privately held since 2023, when Marlin Equity Partners and Altor took it private. Before Meltwater, Sysomos belonged to Marketwire from 2010 and became independent again in 2015.
What happened to Sysomos?
It was absorbed into Meltwater. After the 2018 acquisition the Sysomos team ran Meltwater's social analytics division, and the product line was gradually folded into Meltwater's own platform. Today the domain redirects to meltwater.com.
That is why directory pages disagree with each other. Some still carry a Sysomos listing frozen years ago, and one simply notes that Sysomos was rebranded as Meltwater Social and shows no price at all.
Does Sysomos have a free trial?
No, and it never really did. Directory listings record Sysomos as having no free version or trial, and Meltwater, which now sells the capability, states on its pricing FAQ that it does not offer a self-serve free trial.
What Meltwater offers instead is a guided demo with a product specialist. If you need to test the data on your own brand before signing a 12-month agreement, ask for a time-boxed sandbox during the sales process.
What is a good Sysomos alternative?
It depends which Sysomos job you are replacing. For deep research across large historical social datasets, the realistic options are enterprise suites such as Meltwater itself, Brandwatch or Talkwalker, all priced by quote.
If what you used was the Heartbeat side, an always-on feed of brand mentions with sentiment and alerts, that job costs far less on its own. Self-serve monitoring tools publish prices from under $100 a month, with seats included, and can be cancelled monthly.
What should I ask Meltwater for if I am replacing Sysomos?
Ask for the quote broken out by capability, so social listening, media intelligence and media relations each carry their own line. A single bundled figure hides which part of the price pays for the job you used Sysomos for.
Then ask whether the 12-month minimum applies to your setup, whether an implementation fee is included, and what happens to the price at renewal. Buyers on record negotiate around 15% off the first Meltwater quote, so the opening number is rarely the final one.
