Brand24 vs Awario Pricing: Plans, Limits and Real Cost

Awario is priced in euros and Brand24 in dollars, and neither entry plan does what most teams buy monitoring for. Here are both ladders read from the vendors' own plan tables in September 2026, including the limits most comparisons miss: where export, LinkedIn, podcasts and real-time collection actually start.

Short answer: Awario is far cheaper on paper and Brand24 is far more specific about what you get. Awario starts at EUR 29 a month billed annually and Brand24 at $199, but the two entry plans are not comparable products. Brand24 Individual monitors 3 keywords and 2,000 mentions a month and collects every 12 hours, with no LinkedIn, YouTube or TikTok coverage at all. Awario Starter gives you 3 topics, unlimited keywords per topic and 30,000 mentions, but publishes no refresh interval at any price and blocks data export entirely on the entry plan.

Last updated September 2026. Both ladders were read from awario.com/pricing and brand24.com/prices on September 10, 2026, including each vendor's full plan comparison table rather than just the plan cards.

The currency thing, because almost every comparison gets it wrong

Awario prices in euros. Its pricing page shows EUR 29, EUR 89 and EUR 249 on the yearly toggle, and EUR 49, EUR 149 and EUR 399 monthly. Nearly every roundup and comparison article in this category republishes those figures with a dollar sign in front of them, which is not a rounding error so much as a different number, and it moves with the exchange rate on the day your card is charged.

If you are a US buyer building an annual budget, price Awario in euros and add whatever your card issuer charges for a foreign currency transaction. It is still the cheapest tool in this comparison by a wide margin. It is just not the number you will see quoted elsewhere. Determ, the other well-known European vendor in this category, does the same thing.

Two rows there decide most evaluations, and neither is the price.

The first is the mention allowance. Awario Starter allows 30,000 new mentions a month for EUR 29. Brand24 Individual allows 2,000 for $199. That is fifteen times the volume for roughly a seventh of the money, and if you are a consumer brand with any real conversation volume, 2,000 mentions is a cap you will hit in the first week and then stop receiving data until the cycle resets.

The second is getting data out, and both vendors gate it. On the EUR 29 Awario Starter plan you cannot export your mentions to CSV at all, and PDF reports are greyed out too. Both start on Pro at EUR 89, and Awario's own FAQ confirms the export option is available to Pro and Enterprise users. Brand24 draws the same line one rung higher and at a higher price: Excel, PDF and PowerPoint reports are absent from both Individual and Team and start on Pro at $399. If any part of your workflow ends in a spreadsheet, a BI tool or a client report, the honest comparison is Awario Pro at EUR 89 against Brand24 Pro at $399, not the two entry prices.

The stored-mention cap nobody quotes

Awario publishes a second, quieter limit: stored mentions per topic, at 5,000 on Starter, 15,000 on Pro and 50,000 on Enterprise. Its FAQ explains what happens when you reach it: Awario replaces the oldest mentions with newly found ones. So the 30,000 monthly allowance is throughput, not an archive. On Starter your usable history per topic is capped at 5,000 mentions, which is worth knowing before you plan any trend or year-over-year work on the cheap tier.

Where Brand24 earns the difference

It would be easy to read the tables above and conclude Brand24 is simply overpriced. Two things complicate that.

The first is that Brand24 tells you how often it looks. Individual collects every 12 hours, Team every hour, and Pro at $399 collects in real time. Awario states no interval anywhere on its pricing page, on any of its three plans. That is not evidence that Awario is slow. It means the specification is undisclosed, and if you are buying monitoring to catch problems early, an undisclosed collection frequency is a gap to close on a call rather than an assumption to make. We compare vendors across this category on that single specification in our breakdown of real-time brand monitoring and alert speed by plan.

The second is source coverage, and this is where Brand24's own plan comparison table surprises people. The $199 Individual plan covers Facebook, Instagram, X, news, blogs, other socials and Reddit. It does not cover LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Medium or Quora. Those start at Team, $299. Review sites, Twitch and newsletters start at Pro, $399. Podcasts only start at Business, $599, even though podcasts appear in Brand24's general list of sources.

If you sell B2B and LinkedIn is where your category actually argues, the entry Brand24 plan is structurally unable to do the job, and your real Brand24 price is $299. If you sell consumer products and reviews matter, it is $399. If podcast mentions are part of the brief, it is $599. Awario does not break out sources by plan in the same way, which is a point in its favor on simplicity and against it on transparency.

Alerts are on every Brand24 plan, including the slow one

Brand24 includes Storm Alerts, custom email notifications and Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations on all five tiers, Individual included. Read quickly, that looks like the alerting problem is solved at $199. It is not, and the reason is the interval: a storm alert built on data collected every 12 hours can fire up to twelve hours after the storm started. The alerting machinery is complete on the entry plan and the data underneath it is half a day old. This is one of the most common ways teams end up disappointed by a monitoring purchase, and it is worth checking on any vendor, not just this one.

Frequently asked questions

Is Awario cheaper than Brand24?

Yes, substantially, on every comparable tier. Awario Starter is EUR 29 a month billed annually against $199 for Brand24 Individual, and Awario Enterprise at EUR 249 sits close to Brand24's $299 Team plan while allowing 1,000,000 mentions a month against 10,000. On the tiers most teams actually need, Awario Pro at EUR 89 exports data and seats 10 people, while Brand24 needs Pro at $399 for exported reports. On that basis Awario costs roughly a quarter as much.

Is Awario better than Brand24?

It depends which specification your job runs on. Awario wins clearly on price, mention volume, keyword flexibility, since keywords per topic are unlimited on every plan, and on how early it lets you export, at EUR 89 against $399. Boolean search is a tie, since both include it on every plan. Brand24 wins on transparency about how often it collects, on per-plan source disclosure, and on the AI layer, which adds events detection and a brand assistant from Pro upward. If you need a defined alert latency in writing, Brand24 is the only one of the two that publishes one.

Does Awario have an API?

Only on the Enterprise plan at EUR 249 a month billed annually. There is no API access on Starter or Pro. Brand24 is stricter at the bottom of its ladder: there is no API on Individual or Team at all, it costs an extra $149 on Pro and Business, and it is included only on Enterprise, from $1,499 a month. Teams that want mention data in their own warehouse and cannot justify either upgrade sometimes build the collection themselves against public sources, which is a much smaller job now that a scraper can be pointed at a site in plain English rather than maintained as code, though you are then responsible for the coverage the vendors were selling you.

Does Awario have a free trial?

Yes, with no credit card required. The trial runs at Starter level: 3 topics and up to 30,000 mentions. If you do not subscribe, the trial account expires without charging you and Awario keeps your data for 14 days before deleting the account. Brand24 offers a 14 day trial. Both are long enough to test the thing that actually matters, which is whether the tool finds the mentions you already know exist.

Does Brand24 monitor LinkedIn?

Not on the $199 Individual plan. LinkedIn coverage starts on the Team plan at $299 a month billed annually, alongside YouTube, TikTok, Medium and Quora. This is published in Brand24's own plan comparison table rather than on the plan cards, which is why most comparison articles miss it. For a B2B brand it is the single most important line in the whole ladder.

Does Brand24 monitor podcasts?

Only from the Business plan at $599 a month billed annually. Individual, Team and Pro do not include podcast coverage, even though podcasts appear in Brand24's general source list and marketing. If podcast mentions matter to you, price Brand24 at $599 a month, which is $7,188 a year, before you compare it with anything else on your shortlist.

Which is better for a small business?

For most small businesses the answer is Awario Pro at EUR 89, because it is the cheapest plan in this comparison that both exports data and supports a real team, at 10 members. Brand24 Individual at $199 gives one seat and 2,000 mentions, which is a demanding price for a single-user tool that cannot produce a downloadable report. The caveat is alert speed: if the reason you are buying is to catch problems quickly, neither Awario plan tells you how quickly, and Brand24's real-time tier is $399.

How to decide

  • Buy Awario if budget is the binding constraint, you have volume, and you can work without a published refresh interval. Start at Pro, EUR 89, not Starter, unless you genuinely never need to export anything.
  • Buy Brand24 if you need a stated collection frequency and per-source clarity in writing. Price it at $299 if LinkedIn or YouTube matter, $399 if you need real time, reviews or exported reports, and $599 if podcasts are part of the job. Treat $199 as a trial tier rather than a working one.
  • Buy neither if what you actually want is every source, real-time collection and seats for the whole team on the entry plan. That is EyeOut at $59 a month billed yearly, and you can see the direct comparisons on our Brand24 alternative and Awario alternative pages.

Whichever way you lean, read the numbers off the vendor's own page before you build a budget on them. This category moves quickly and third-party listings lag badly: Mentionlytics cut every tier above its entry plan earlier in 2026 and the retired ladder is still published on several major directories. The full verified picture for every vendor in this space is on our social listening pricing comparison, and the Brand24 ladder on its own is broken down in Brand24 pricing.
