Short answer: Agorapulse is the cheaper of the two at every team size. Its plans run $79, $119 and $149 per user a month billed annually, against Sprout Social's $199, $299 and $399 per seat, so a three-person team pays about $4,284 a year on Agorapulse Professional and $7,164 on Sprout Standard. Neither price includes full social listening. On both platforms it is a separate add-on sold only through a demo, with no published price.

Every figure below was read from agorapulse.com/pricing and sproutsocial.com/pricing on October 1, 2026, including the plan comparison tables and the add-on sections. Where a vendor publishes no price, we say so rather than fill the gap with a number from a review site.

Agorapulse vs Sprout Social pricing side by side

TierAgorapulse (per user, annual / monthly)Sprout Social (per seat)
EntryStandard $79 / $99Essentials $79 annual, $99 monthly (publishing only)
Main planProfessional $119 / $149Standard $199
UpperAdvanced $149 / $199Professional $299

Social listeningAdvanced Listening add-on, book a demo, no priceListening add-on from Standard, schedule a demo, no price

Two things in that table are easy to miss. Sprout's $79 Essentials plan is a separate, publishing-focused box with no brand keywords at all, so the realistic Sprout entry point for anyone who cares about monitoring is Standard at $199. And Agorapulse saves up to 20% on annual billing, which is where the $79, $119 and $149 figures come from. Month to month it costs $99, $149 and $199.

What a team of one, three and ten actually pays

Both vendors charge by the person, so the gap grows with headcount. Here is the annual bill at list price, before any add-on.

TeamAgorapulseSprout SocialDifference per year
1 person, main planStandard, $948Standard, $2,388$1,440
3 people, collaboration featuresProfessional, $4,284Standard, $7,164$2,880
3 people, unlimited profilesCustom (quote) or extra profilesProfessional, $10,764Depends on the quote
10 people, top published tierAdvanced, $17,880Advanced, $47,880$30,000

The ten-seat row is where the decision usually gets made. At that size Sprout costs nearly three times as much, and the extras it adds on Advanced (the Sprout API, helpdesk integrations, sentiment in the inbox and message spike alerts) have to be worth about $30,000 a year to your team before the higher price makes sense.

What you get on each main plan

On Agorapulse, Standard covers unlimited scheduling, a single inbox for messages and organic comments, and basic reports you can export with your branding. Professional adds link in bio, Instagram product tagging, replies to ad comments, and post and inbox assignments with team performance reports. Advanced brings labels, saved replies, automated moderation rules, bulk actions, shared content calendars, and the advanced reports: ads, ROI analysis and competitor benchmarking. Every paid plan connects 10 social profiles.

On Sprout, Standard includes 5 profiles, the consolidated inbox, keyword and location monitoring, the Trellis AI agent and review management. Professional lifts profiles to unlimited and adds message tagging and fuller competitor, tag and paid reports. Advanced adds AI-assisted replies, sentiment in the Smart Inbox and Reviews, the API and helpdesk integrations, customer care reports and Message Spike Alerts.

So the feature lists line up closer than the prices do. Sprout's real advantages at the same tier are review management on Standard and an API on its published Advanced plan. Agorapulse's are twice the profiles at entry and ROI reporting that does not require the top tier of a far pricier ladder.

Is Agorapulse cheaper than Sprout Social?

Yes, at every comparable tier and every team size. Agorapulse's main plan costs $119 per user a month billed annually, while Sprout's main plan costs $199 per seat, and the gap widens to about $30,000 a year for a team of ten on each vendor's top published tier. The difference only narrows if you need unlimited profiles, which pushes Agorapulse onto a custom quote.

Where social listening sits on each price list

This is the line most comparison posts skip, and it matters if your reason for buying either tool is knowing what people say about your brand.

Sprout gives you some monitoring in the base plan. Standard and Professional include 10 brand keywords per group and Advanced includes 20, which surface matching public messages in the Smart Inbox. Full Listening, with Smart Categories, sentiment scoring, custom spike alerts and machine learning filters, is a separate add-on available on Standard and up. The pricing page lists it next to Premium Analytics with one button: Schedule a demo. No figure appears.

Agorapulse has no keyword listening in its core plans beyond searching your own inbox by keyword. Its Advanced Listening add-on tracks conversations across social accounts, news sites, blogs and forums with filters by language, location, sentiment and source. It too shows only a Book a demo button. Agorapulse also owns Mention, the older listening product, which is why its listening pages read "Mention by Agorapulse" in places.

The practical result is that neither headline price tells you what listening costs. Budget the add-on as an unknown until you have a written quote, and ask both vendors for it before you compare the two suites. Our Sprout Social listening pricing breakdown covers what that add-on includes and how buyers report it being priced.

Which is better, Agorapulse or Sprout Social?

For most small and mid-sized teams, Agorapulse is the better buy. It does the core publishing, inbox and reporting work at roughly 40 to 60% of Sprout's price, and it includes ROI reporting and competitor benchmarking on a plan that costs $149. Sprout is the better choice for larger teams that need review management in the same tool, a published API, or deep customer care reporting, and can absorb a per-seat price that starts at $199.

Does Sprout Social include social listening?

Partly. Sprout's Standard, Professional and Advanced plans include brand keyword monitoring (10 or 20 keywords per group), but full Listening, with sentiment, topic categories and spike alerts across public conversations, is a paid add-on on Standard and up. Sprout does not publish its price; the pricing page sends you to a demo.

Does Agorapulse have a free plan?

Yes. Agorapulse's FAQ says that after the 30-day trial you can either choose a paid plan or keep using the free plan, with no automatic charge. Sprout has no free plan. Its trial also runs 30 days without a card, and after it ends you pick a paid plan to keep access.

When you need listening and not a publishing suite

A lot of teams shortlist Agorapulse and Sprout because they want to hear about their brand, then discover that the listening part is the one piece neither will price on the page. If publishing and the inbox are the main job, pick one of the two using the tables above and treat listening as a later decision.

If the main job is monitoring, you are about to pay for scheduling seats to get at an add-on. A dedicated tool is usually cheaper and faster to set up. EyeOut watches Google News, Reddit, Hacker News, Mastodon, Lemmy and Apple Podcasts for your brand and competitor names, checks every 30 minutes, scores each mention for sentiment, and flags a keyword that jumps above its own 7-day average. It costs $39, $94 or $249 a month billed yearly with seats included. It does not publish posts or run a social inbox, and it does not read Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or X, so it sits next to a scheduler rather than replacing one. For a team whose customers argue about products on Reddit and in the press, that pairing often costs less than either suite's listening add-on alone.

The same logic applies to the influencer modules both vendors sell. Sprout's Influencer Marketing is a separate product priced by demo. If you only need a few creator videos for launches, briefing and paying UGC creators for hire per piece is a smaller commitment than a platform contract.

How to decide in 15 minutes

  1. Count the people who will log in and the social profiles you will connect. Multiply seats by $119 (Agorapulse Professional) and by $199 (Sprout Standard). That is your floor on each.
  2. If you connect more than 5 profiles, Sprout jumps to Professional at $299 a seat. If you connect more than 10, Agorapulse needs extra profiles or a custom quote.
  3. Write down whether you need review management, an API or helpdesk integrations. Those are the features that justify Sprout's price.
  4. Ask both vendors for a written listening quote before comparing. Without it, you are comparing two incomplete prices.
  5. If listening is the main job, price a dedicated monitoring tool first and see whether a cheaper scheduler covers the rest.
